it is a pet peeve of mine - money atm - the UX and usability to get your money » IDEO redesigns the ATM
I am not sure who actually help with the design of the new deposit - atm for Bank of America. It has simplify certain aspect of life, then complicated others.
ideo’s new atm: one slot for money and slips okay fine, that’s great. I want to question that 19 in ‘touch’ screen … using the bank of america’s touch screen for deposits - did not make live easier because i still HESITATE as to which touch button i am to press… isn’t that the same for the number of physical buttons that were once on the machine before touch screens?
the physical form is nice and simple, but i think for all products on the market using touch screen should not use the metaphor ‘touchscreen makes life simple’…it is not the answer to a problem just dodge the work from industrial designer’s responsibilities over to the UX and GUI designers’ jobs.
